Betsey Johnson presents a "Sailor Betsey" Fashion Show at Grand Central Miami

Betsey Johnson is best known for her over the top style and her fearless sense of fashion. On Saturday, April 2nd, I headed over to Downtown Miami to check out a "Sailor" inspired Betsey Johnson Fashion Show at Grand Central Miami. This was one of the funnest fashion shows I've seen in a long time. The runway was packed with beach balls, colorful swimsuits and adorable sailor themed jumpsuits. Throughout the show, the crowd danced to the beats of Mike Deuce and Josh LeCash while enjoying the various looks Betsey had to offer! I also recognized one of my dearest friends on the catwalk: Damaris Aquiar, Miss Carnaval Miami 2011 [pictured on the left]. Cheers to a fabulous show and a truly creative collection!

Betsy Moss presents their Fall 2011 Collection at the Shore Club Hotel on South Beach

This year's winter season is definitely not affecting our sizzling and sexy city! On Saturday, February 19th, Betsy Moss hosted their Fall 2011 Collection Fashion Show at the Shore Club Hotel on South Beach (1901 Collins Avenue). Believe me Sazoneros...it was HOT! Betsy Moss is a fashion house that currently produces two popular labels: Betsy Moss, ready to wear and Betsy Moss Maternity, a clothing line for the fashion-forward mom-to-be. Want to hear a fun fact about the designers of this collection? They're siblings! Betsy Moss was founded by CEO & Creative Director Jorge Perez who designs the clothing line along with his sister Betsy Perez. The show takes place on Thursday, October 21st, at the Bass Museum of Art (2121 Park Avenue in Miami Beach). Get ready to see our city's most influential women strut their favorite red dress down the catwalk to raise awareness for the Go Red for Women campaign! The Go Red for Women movement started at the American Heart Association in 2004. If you haven't heard the news: heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S., followed by stroke at #3. These statistics are of particular urgency to Hispanic women, as heart disease tends to occur in Hispanic women about 10 years earlier than average women.
